Buffaloes (19-9) vs Oregon Ducks (20-8) Handicapping / Spread

The Oregon Ducks will clinch at least fourth place in the Pac 12 with victories over Colorado, and Utah on Saturday. Colorado is 13-54 overall on the road since the start of 2006-07. What shakes down tonight?

Thursday March 1
Matthew Knight Arena – Eugene, OR
10:30PM
Moneyline: No money lines posted at this time
Spread: Oregon -5.5
O/U: 137

Colorado

All the big conferences close out their regular season’s this week and in the PAC 12 there is still some positioning to be decided. It is Colorado’s first year in the league and right now they are tied for fourth place with an 11-5 record – with their Thursday opponent the Oregon Ducks.

Not bad for the newbies who still have an outside chance at being tied for first if they take care of business and all hell breaks loose across the West Coast. Colorado is an emerging team and should be competitive in their new league…at least on the hardwood.

Last year, Colorado had a lot of offensive talent but this year they have a more balanced club with a stronger commitment to defense and rebounding.

Forward Andre Roberson has blossomed into a rebounding machine averaging 11 points and 11 rebound a game. At just 6’7” he is sort of like Shawn Marion, super athletic with a nose for the ball.

He is one of four Buffaloes that average between 10 and 12 points per game. Just like their opponent this team is ready to pounce on others mistakes.

Oregon

The home Oregon Ducks are also looking to make some noise this weekend.

Like Colorado they are probably on the outside looking in as far as the Big Dance goes but a win against the Buffs will certainly help with that.

Oregon plays very well at home (they are 13-3) and if they can beat Colorado they should have no trouble beating their final opponent Utah to jump up to 22 regular season wins.

That total will be hard to ignore.

They are also looking to revenge a one point loss to the Buffaloes at Colorado in February.

The Ducks were able to get the pace they wanted and wing E.J Singler had a great game with 13 points and 13 boards but they were tossing up bricks at the free throw line (10-17).

A couple of more from the charity swipe and they would be looking for the season sweep and a more secure position in the post season picture.

Spread Pick: Colorado +5.5
O/U Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Colorado 67 – Oregon 65
